Scientists have found that a rise in global carbon levels has caused the Pacific’s acidity to spike, creating an environment that is toxic to shellfish. As a result of this discovery, Jay Inslee, the governor of Washington is proposing new regulations against carbon pollution to lower long-term carbon emissions.
There are many ways to lower carbon emissions, solar energy being one of the best ways. And if that means healthier oysters, then preventing global warming is not only good for the environment, but has tasty after-effects, too!
